The Army Sailing Association, Northern Ireland (ASA NI) is an RYA accredited joint-service facility, affiliated to the Army Sailing Association, which offers watersports to the Defence Community, including dependents, based in Northern Ireland and wider afield. It caters for all sailing disciplines, including offshore and inshore yacht racing, dinghy and keel-boat racing, windsurfing, stand up paddle boarding and power boating.
ASA NI has the instructors and local contacts to allow the organisation to deliver water borne activities and instruction to wounded, injured and sick personnel as part of a planned rehabilitation programme as well as to disabled members of the defence community.
The ASA NI's inshore sail training centre is an accredited RYA training centre able to deliver RYA accredited courses in a wide range of disciplines. Registered users have access to the full range of courses which include dinghy and catamaran sailing, windsurfing, powerboating and stand up paddle boarding courses. Most courses are available to dependents.
The centre runs a regular programme of fun dinghy racing in cooperation with local sailing clubs and Belfast Lough Sailability. Regattas are advertised on the site to registered users.
