RYA Dinghy Instructor Course - 5 Day Course

This 5 day course covers all aspects of teaching beginners and improvers to sail and is the first rung on the sailing instructor ladder. During the week you will be taught the RYAs teaching framework known as The Method which encompasses single and double handed sailing.

 It is important you are as prepared as possible before arriving at the centre, making sure you have read a current copy of G14, G4 and G11 before the course and please remember to bring these with you.

 In order to become a dinghy instructor, candidates need to fulfil some pre-entry requirements as follows;

Pre-entry Requirements

 Demonstrate sailing ability under the supervision of an RYA coach.

 Prove competence in basic first aid, including hypothermia and resuscitation.

 Prove ability to drive a powerboat (hold RYA National Powerboat Certificate, Level 2).

 Completion of pre-course work.

As the name suggests, these requirements are needed BEFORE attending the course and the evidence must be bought with you when you attend the course.

Course Cost:  £50 (£300+ in civvy street).
